The Tarjeta Multi
Metro de Madrid sells no paper tickets: you buy a Tarjeta Multi, a red contactless card, for €2.50 at any machine and load single trips or a 10-trip ticket onto it. A single in zone A is €1.50 to €2 depending on the stations; the 10-trip is €12.20 and can be shared. Bank cards do not work at the gates.
When: All year; the machines take cards. The 10-trip can be shared between two people.
