The Fallen Angel at 666 metres
The Fuente del Ángel Caído in the south of the Retiro is one of the few public statues of Lucifer anywhere, by Ricardo Bellver, 1877, and the plinth sits at 666 m above sea level, which the city insists is a coincidence. Nearby is the Palacio de Cristal, a glass greenhouse from 1887 that is free and shows art.
When: All year. In October the Retiro turns gold; the Palacio de Cristal is free, about 10:00 to 19:00 in autumn.
