Mercado de Antón Martín and the Cine Doré
Mercado de San Miguel is a pretty iron-and-glass tapas hall with tourist prices. Mercado de Antón Martín on Calle Santa Isabel is a working neighbourhood market with stalls and counters: Yokaloka for Japanese, a vermouth bar, cheese. On the corner is the Cine Doré, the 1923 art nouveau cinema of the Filmoteca, with €3 tickets.
When: Market Monday to Saturday, mornings to about 21:00; counters fullest 13:00 to 15:00. Cine Doré screens evenings, closed Mondays.
